Women

Purpose of the United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. 

Women at Foothills UMC

 
By participating in UMW activites the ladies of our church get to share their interests, beliefs, and experiences with one another, allowing each of us to continue on our own personal journeys knowing we have sisters to support us and encourage us along the way.
 
The women in our church are out in our communities almost everyday of the week helping others; counseling those in need at the HELP house, preparing meals at Upper Room, providing gifts for families that are unable to do so, giving cookies to Juvenile Hall, just to name of few ways we minister to our local community.

Morning Book Group

The first Tuesday of the month at 10 AM in room 4.  Childcare is provided.

Evening Book Group

The third Tuesday of the month at 7 PM.  The location varies at participant's homes.

Annual Spiritual Retreat

Come and renew your faith, let it grow with others through fellowship, and drink in our guest Pastor's sermons.    There is time to rejoice with others, celebrate God's compassion, and have time to clear your head.

Tea and Fashion Show

Please join us as we continue in fellowship with one another while enjoying some wonderful teas, sandwiches and desserts and taking in the latest fashions.  This is also our annual fund raiser to help our local community fulfill their financial needs.

Monday Lunch Bunch

Don’t miss the Monday lunch bunch at Round Table Pizza on 3370 Coach Lane in Cameron Park at noon every Monday.

Ladies Night Out

The fourth Friday of the month is Ladies Night Out, 7 PM at the church with games, snacks and fun. Contact Rita Heikura, 530.677.4117, for information.

Service to Others

Prayer Shawl and Quilt Ministry

As an ongoing ministry, UMW has prepared kits to make prayer shawls and quilts along with the instructions and history of this ministry. Please pick up a kit which is located on the UMW bookshelf just under the UMW bulletin board by the kitchen.
